Medical Insurance Options for those that have pre-existing medical conditions:

Medical insurance options for those with pre-existing health conditions!

Even though the insurance companies do not have to follow the new Obama law until 2014, there are still options out there for people that have pre-existing health conditions when it comes to medical insurance.

The website PCIP has a lot of information about what options you may have.  What type of coverage you can get and the monthly rates will depend on what state you live in.  This is a government ran medical insurance in most states.  Some states handle the insurance themselves.

The great thing is from what we have seen on their website, their rates are very reasonable.

Here are some of the basics for qualifying for this type of insurance:

  1. You must have a pre-existing health condition.
  2. You must have been without medical insurance for at least six months.
  3. You must be a resident of the United States.

To qualify you will need one or more of the following information:

  • Proof of residency
  • A letter from your doctor dated within the past twelve months stating that you have a pre-existing health condition, and it must be signed by him with his license information.

And / Or

  • A letter from a major health insurance company that says you’re denied insurance because of a pre-existing health condition within the past twelve months.
